Good morning! I had hoped to open up the first week of July Faery Hair Sparkle appointments yesterday, but Thursday July 1 is the only date that will be available that first week, due to sparkle parties and such! Fairy Hair Sparkles with Sera in Portland, spring 2021

Hi, sweet sparklies. I will be back to scheduling and sparkling in June, 2021. With  taxes to finish and my husband's first vacation in over a year taking up the second half of May, sparkles will have to wait.

I have been sparkling haphazardly in my new Sparkle and Faery Wing studio at the Overlook House in N Portland, mostly manually scheduling via email at serafaery@yahoo.com and by text at 503-720-5486.  I hope to move back to automated bookings again in June, and will post the new link here, when ready!

My vaccination reached full efficacy April 26th, but all covid requirements for hair services in Oregon remain in place for now: masks required at all times, pre-scheduled appointments only and covid screening questions required, sanitizing all surfaces between appointments, no shared tools or supplies, only one person in the studio with me at a time - friends can join, they hang out in a comfy chair in the hallway where we can still see each other and chat. It's working nicely. (I am just really tired of all the cleaning, and so is the skin on my hands.) I'm upstairs so if you need ADA access, let me know before scheduling and I can bring the sparkles down to the main floor, we have wheelchair access in the Garden Room.

 Hi sparkly ones, thank you so much for your patience.  Sparkling appointments are on hold this week, while upgrading to N95 masks in response to the new more transmissible covid strains, and recalibrating my system for covid protection requirements, to make sure we all stay healthy and safe while sparkling together. The online shop is always open for online purchases, of course.

I will update here soon with a booking link for appointments. You are always welcome and encouraged to email me at serafaery@yahoo.com for any questions. I do get a lot of emails so please forgive me if you have to send a note more than once, sometimes they get lost before I get a chance to compose a reply. I want to reply to everyone and never intend to ignore any messages. I typically manage to reply in about 2 days. <3

I miss sparkling and all of my customers so much. We'll get there. I appreciate your patience and hanging in there with me while we navigate this new system, together. Any feedback is always welcome. 

I am still deep in grief, I must admit, from losing my mother. This will just take some time. Her obituary should be finalized and published on Wednesday this week. That was a very, very difficult task. I still have a lot to do to make sure I honor her in ways I feel are appropriate, but without sacrificing my own well-being too much. It is a delicate balance. I appreciate everyone's kindness and support, the cards and messages and notes of well wishes and love are wonderful. Family loss announcement, sparkles will be rescheduled

My mother, Molly Elaine Rodway (née Fleetwood) passed away peacefully, January 19th 2021 at 4:45pm, surrounded in love. Her two children, my brother and I (Shawn and Sarah) were present. We were with her for her last 24 hours, holding hands, embracing, sharing stories and blessings and prayers, and listening to music while she so gently faded. I will provide more info about Celebration of Life and memorial services, donation options, and etc., in the coming weeks. Dearest sparkly ones, thank you so much with your patience as I continue to navigate sparkling during a pandemic - keeping us all safe is my top priority!

Currently, I feel that working just Tuesdays and Fridays, until the surge simmers, is a good compromise. I unfortunately don't feel comfortable offering a booking link publicly yet. But anyone who wants to send me an email at serafaery@yahoo.com can have access to it, so please feel free to ask! Texting is okay but beware I lose texts after a span of time passes, I have no way to search back for people who asked weeks or months ago, I'm so sorry about that, I want to catch everyone and I'm trying but they all just get buried and impossible to find. Email is searchable so that is a safer bet. You are always encouraged to reach out again if you don't hear from me the first or second or third time!

I am opening appointments up one day at a time, making sure I feel safe before booking very far ahead of time. I am still adjusting my time slots, as I'm finding myself excessively over-sparkling out of an eagerness to make up for all of the lost time. I need to limit myself better so that I can serve more people and not over-extend myself.

Currently, I am making about half of what I did before, given the time needed for disinfecting and the cost of the N Portland Overlook House studio. It's not sustainable long term, but when things improve later in the spring and summer, I hope I can increase my efficiency a little bit. It's a difficult dance, but I'm willing to learn! Thank you for your patience as I find my balance in all of this, I appreciate your support more than I can say.

💖 Editing to gently add: if Tuesdays and Fridays don't work from you, I do have some flexibility, so please feel free to ask. I also have enough space to share indoors safely, so if you have a friend or kiddos who can stay in the next room or downstairs while we work, that would be totally fine, too, just let me know what you need. I also have ADA access at the building in the Garden Room, so just let me know beforehand if you need to avoid stairs. 💖

Winter Holidays and Fairy Hair Sparkles 2020 🍂 ✨❄️

Faery Hair Sparkles friends! I am searching for a safe place to offer Faery Hair Magic this holiday season. Since it's been shown that no virus has been spread from hair services, as long as all protocols are followed, I feel confident that I can return to this work, safely and responsibly. My space will need to be private and all appts will have to be one on one (no more groups, no drop-ins, masks required, pre-screening required, etc.), but with some careful adjustments, we can sparkle together again and bring some lightness and fun into these challenging days.

Thank you so much for your patience as we navigate these difficulties together, I appreciate the support more than I can say!
